Week 2

How To Babysit A Grandpa  VS  The Shape of My Heart

How To Babysit A Grandpa:

Age range: Probably around 3-5 yrs old.

This is a very unique book. It’s written as an instruction book for kids on how to…, well, babysit their grandpa. The reality is that the Grandpa is babysitting the boy, but who’s to argue with this book’s fantastic writer. It has outstanding illustrations that are light and whimsical, while still managing to fill your visual cup full of wonderful colors and textures. The story keeps you reading and smiling the whole time through, and unbeknownst to the children, they are learning good lessons through most of it.

The Shape of My Heart:
Age range: Probably around 2-3 yrs old.

This is a simple, but well written rhyming book. It is very vibrant, focusing on the basic colors of the color wheel. As you might guess from the title of the book, it’s all about shapes, which the parent and child continually notice during their daily activities. The word count is low, but the enjoyment is high for this tender-hearted shapes book.

The Winner:

Congratulations to How To Babysit A Grandpa!

We will see you in November!
